Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you start?
This depends on what type of service you are looking for, the area where you live and whether you are looking for help with a single task or ongoing support with something.  The best thing to do is to get in touch and I will be honest with you about availability and the timeframe in which support can be provided.

Do I need to provide tools or equipment?
The simple answer is no. I use all my own tools, equipment and cleaning solutions necessary to complete the task. For pressure washing I would need access to an outside tap. For most types of cleaning I would need access to an electrical socket as well as a water supply.

Do your offer regular visits?
It depends what you want? Some people may need one off help, for example, getting a new printer set up and connected to all your devices could be completed in one visit. However, if you needed regular help to go shopping or keep your lawn mowed and hedges trimmed, you may require a regular appointment to keep everything on track. The best thing is to contact me and see if I have availability.

What areas do you cover?
I currently have customers in Tywardreath, Par, St. Blazey, St. Austell, Stenalees, Luxulyan. If your postcode starts PL24, PL25, PL26 or PL30 or your telephone number starts 01726 it is likely that I could have availability. If you live in Cornwall, please still get in touch, even if I can’t provide the service you are looking for I can often help you to find an alternative solution.

Is there a minimum job size?
Absolutely not. Sometimes customers just need help with one thing. For example, a wheelchair user asked me to pop round and help him put up some fencing and trellis in his garden so he could enjoy his outdoor space. While I was there, I also removed some ivy that was growing up onto his roof. I often find that once customers are satisfied with small odd jobs, they call me back when they have a bigger project to tackle.

Can family members arrange help on someone’s behalf?
Yes, I often get contacted by families who are arranging support of relatives. Once you reach out to me, I will work with you and the person who needs support to make a plan that everyone is happy with so that the needs can be met. Because customers requirements vary a great deal, I take time to fully understand what your family member wants, so that I can provide the best service to meet their needs.

Are you reliable and insured?
I take pride in being reliable, punctual and doing a proper job. I am fully insured with public liability insurance covering up to £5 Million pounds of liability.  I am registered with HMRC and have a UTR to prove it.  I am registered with the ICO.

Do I need to be at home when the work is undertaken?
Not always – this can be arranged depending on the job and your preference.

What happens after I contact you?
I will respond to you in the way you have chosen. If I can’t get back to you straight away, I may send a quick reply and then respond more fully when I am not working for someone else.

Do you take students?
Sometimes, it depends on availability.  Find out more by clicking here.

Do your offer technology help for complete beginners?
Yes, whatever your current level of experience, I am willing to help you. I am used to helping people who have little or no existing knowledge of technology.

What if I’m not sure what I need?
That’s completely fine — just get in touch and I’ll be happy to talk it through with you.

How long will the job take?
It depends on the task, but I’ll always give you a clear idea beforehand.

Can you help at short notice?
Sometimes — it depends on availability, but I’ll always try to help if I can. If I’m unable to help right away, I will try and suggest an alternative solution that you’re happy with.

How much do you charge?
The cost depends on so many factors it is impossible to say until I speak to you. I have an approach where I give customers a clear upfront price that they understand and there is never pressure to go ahead if you are unsure.

What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash, cheques, credit and debit cards including Visa & Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay as well as Bank Transfer (BACS)

Why do people choose you?
My customers choose me because I offer a friendly, reliable and personal service. You’ll always deal directly with me and I take pride in doing the job right. If you’re unhappy with any aspect of my work I will put it right for you.
